Malia Obama has managed to make Democrats very angry. Her weekly feature in the Harvard Sentinel included her thoughts on the government shutdown. While you may expect her to support her father’s party 100 percent, that’s not at all what happened.

“Democrats acted like children,” she wrote. “If the President wants to build a wall, whether or not we agree with it, we can’t take away people’s livelihoods.”

“As it stands, numerous government workers were unable to feed their families for a month because political posturing was more important to the Left than was basic human decency,” she continued. “President Trump may not be perfect, but hatred of him should not cause us to become monsters.”

“And that’s what the Democratic Party has resembled this past month,” she added. “Monsters.”

The article has caused quite a buzz across Harvard’s campus, with many students demanding that she be fired from her Assistant Editor job. And it’s not just Harvard students who are talking — former Obama Administration official Holden Tudiks says that “this attack on her father’s party was in poor taste and the former First Daughter should be ashamed of herself.”

Malia Obama has developed a reputation for being a “party girl,” but she has shown that when it comes down to it she is more than capable of exercising rational thought.

Good job, Malia! It’s good to know that you aren’t your father’s daughter.
