Obama / Netflix Short : ‘Benghazi’ To Premiere on Academy Award Show

MORE LIES!

The partnership between Barack Obama and streaming giant Netflix is about to give a preview of it’s borne fruit.  Premiering exclusively at the 91st Annual Academy Awards show on Sunday, the five-minute long animated short tells the tale of the night of the Benghazi terrorist attack as seen through the eyes of an embassy mouse, Jakeem.

The animated feature, featuring the voice talents of Gilbert Gottfried as “Jakeem” is made by Aardman Studios, creator of the popular “Wallace and Gromit” series, as well as movies like “Chicken Run”. Other stars lending their vocal talents include Alec Baldwin, Robert DeNiro, Kathy Griffin, and Obama, playing himself on that fateful day.  Film critic Roger Ebert described the feature as : “An adorable well-made adventurous romp that pleases both children and adults.”

Gottfried will be drawing from his extensive repertoire of bird, duck, and smoke alarm.

Netflix president Sandy Battaglia touts the short as : “An excellent example of the kind of vision to expect from a Nobellist and genius like Obama.”  Coming next from the former President’s arm of the service, ACA Productions, are a documentary about Islam, a series about a family of undocumented immigrants, and an all-black update of the classic movie : “Soul Man.”

Currently filming in Virginia.
