On Friday, Nancy Pelosi made some remarks that made real Americans cringe. During World War II, American soldiers sacrificed to remove one of the greatest threats known to man — Adolf Hitler. But in a weird attempt to attack both President Trump and Bernie Sanders, Pelosi went way too far.
“When we say nationalism, the first thing people think about, at least in America, is Hitler,” Pelosi told The Daily Beast. “He was a national socialist.” She noted that Bernie Sanders also calls himself a “nationalist” and a “socialist.”
“If Hitler just wanted to make Germany great and have things run well, OK, fine,” Pelosi continued, voicing approval for the atrocities he committed inside his own country and adding that “President Trump doesn’t just want to make America great. He wants to do what Hitler did.”
“The problem is he wanted, he had dreams outside of Germany. He wanted to globalize, he wanted everybody to be German, everybody to be speaking German, everybody to look a different way, just like Trump,” she said. “To me, that’s not nationalism. So in thinking about how it could go bad down the line, I don’t really have an issue with nationalism, I really don’t.”
Pelosi appears to have been trying to win over Republican voters by saying that she opposes Hitler’s form of globalism and supports nationalism. But she made a real mess of it and instead said that she liked what Hitler did in his own country like genocide.
Of course, with her support of Planned Parenthood’s mass murders and massive gun control, she probably does like a lot of what Hitler did. After all, she did tell us herself.
Since Pelosi’s remarks, 27 Republicans in the House have signed a “no confidence” proclamation calling for her resignation. Pelosi has not yet replied.
Pelosi needs to do the right thing and resign. No one — not even her most staunch supporters — can possibly take her seriously now.
