New York and New Jersey are facing some tough times, no thanks to their do-nothing Democrat governors. Mario Cuomo and Phil Murphy have done little to nothing to stop the spread of the coronavirus, Ignoring the warnings of the federal government going all the way back to January.
Now, because of their incompetence, the Supreme Court has ruled that the Chief Executive has the power, under Article 11 Section 9, to take control of those states that would otherwise be hurt by their own incompetence.
Sure, their governors talk a good game, but what have they actually done? According to the White House Coronavirus Task Force, not very much. Mike Pence had this to say about the situation:
“Way back in January, when we knew this was going to be very bad, we told them they should prepare, but they didn’t. It’s not our fault that they don’t know how to read between the lines of President Trump’s public statements.
“When he said, ‘it’s going to disappear,’ he obviously meant ‘after a long and treacherous battle that will cost tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of lives.’ When he said, ‘we have it under control,’ he meant ‘in that we know what to expect, which is a lot of pain, death, and despair.’ They should have started prepping those big liberal cities of theirs the minute they knew our Commander-in-Chief was going into cheerleader mode. It’s really not that hard to figure out.”
Vice-President Pence is right. As soon as Trump starts talking about something like it’s no big deal, it’s probably time to start bettering down the hatches. His job, first and foremost, is to protect the stock market and his own personal interests, as they provide a gauge for what the rest of the country will likely go through. If Trump sells, you sell. If Trump seems distracted, something is wrong. If Trump says don’t worry, make sure you’re ready for the worst. How hard is that, really?
Hopefully, Trump can go in there and do the same things they’ve done in places like Florida.
